There are 2 standard filter element sizes manufactured by CJC. One measures 15 cm in diameter by 25 cm high, while the other has a 27 cm diameter and is 27 cm high. Thus, a 15/25, and a 27/27.

For the unit: PTU 27/54,
PTU designates the type of unit, in this case a CJC Filter Separator. Type HDU is a CJC Fine Filter, and type PFU is a CJC Filter Separator for use on fuel systems.
The first number, 27,
simply tells us that this particular unit uses the 27 cm diameter element.
The second number, 54, indicates the total
height of the element stack. Here, we see that this unit uses (2) 27/27
elements stacked one on top of the other. Up to 4 elements can be stacked
in a single filter housing, to make a 27/108.
The figure below illustrates this:
On a unit such as the PTU 3x27/108 pictured below, the
preceding 3 indicates that there are 3 separate filter housings installed on a
single base, each containing a stack of 4
elements.
