Application:
The PTU 15/25 series of filter separators are used for fine filtration and water separation on hydraulic oils and turbine lube oils with a specific gravity lower than that of water and which does not form stable emulsions with water.

Function:
The filter pump draws oil, for example from a system tank, and it presses it through the filter elements. From the centre of the elements the oil flows down into the filter base where water droplets, if any, adhere to the coalescer element, forming larger drops that will settle in the bottom of the coalescing chamber. From the top of the filter base the water free oil will flow back to the tank.
Separated water can be drained manually from the bottom of the coalescing chamber.

The pressure drop over the filter and the contaminant absorption of the filter elements - is measured by the pressure gauge on the filter top. The filter separator suction line should be connected to the most contaminated point in the system tank - preferably to a drain, if existing.
